Greetings visitors,
Welcome, My name is Cindy Casas, a Liberal Studies B.A. graduate from Azusa Pacific University, and a current masters of TESOL program student. My goal is to help educate students in Latin America with a desire to learn English for education and work related purposes. I hope to help facilitate that need one student at a time.
"Freely you have received; freely give." Matthew 10:8
My Story
My passion for teaching English began when I realized the desire of young people in my church wanting to learn English, but very little resources to obtain courses. Spending time in Mexico, allowed me to see the growing need and desire of local students who have little to no access to English courses. Once they knew I was bilingual, they wanted me to teach them English. At first I thought to my self, how hard can it be to teach someone English? I know the language, I can do it. My reality was far from the truth. I immediately came across challenges, and did not know what to do or how to help the students. That's when I knew I had to take action in order to help fill that need. I decided to enroll into the TESOL program at APU. I have enjoyed learning. I am beginning to understand the responsibility there is to teach, but to ensure I take into consideration the needs of the students. Learning about TESOL, has enabled me learn about successful techniques, strategies, resources, apps, and activities to use when teaching. Above all, I want to create a fun and enjoyable time for my students as they learn English.
